Prayers

Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire you in my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though you were already there, I embrace you and unite myself wholly to you; do not permit that I should ever be separated from you. Amen.

St. Alphonsus Maria de Ligouri (1696-1787)

Other Prayers:

TIP: Written prayers often express what we want to say to God in ways that are particularly helpful to us. They can also be good starting points for longer times of prayer. In that respect, it’s good to reflect on the fact that God gave us one mouth and two ears. Our prayer times are most fruitful when they are shaped by that - speak some of the time, but listen to God for at least twice as long as we speak.
