Peace Begins
Peace begins with me.
Peace begins with my struggle to become the me that God calls me to.
Peace begins when I recognise that I have failed.
I have failed, but I am forgiven.
Peace begins with an unrest in my soul.
With an unease because things aren’t as they should be.
With a disquiet because my relationships could be better.
With a prompting to forgive.
Peace begins with the grace to say sorry.
Peace begins with the first step of an extra mile.
With an open hand in the face of ingratitude.
With the turn of my head to an unwelcoming gaze.
Peace is going to cost me,
Because peace begins at home.
